Free Ways to Prep for AP Tests!

Want an idea of how your high school student can start lowering that college bill now? Many colleges accept Advanced Placement test scores of 3 or higher in place of certain college credits (which means your student could skip over some GE courses and potentially graduate early!).
If your son or daughter is already taking an AP course or two, here are some great ways to prepare (for free!) for May’s upcoming tests:
- Attend Review Sessions! Most instructors hold review sessions in the weeks preceding the AP tests, so encourage your student to go to these (and take notes.)
- Create a Study Group with other students in the class. About.com has tips about how to form a study group.
- Practice Essay Writing with past years’ free-response questions, available for free from the tests’ administrator, the College Board.
- Take a Practice Test or review practice questions at
- Learn more about the tests, their scoring, and how to prepare for them at
